MUST SEE: Indiana Pacers Players Prank Rookie Bennedict Mathurin
USA TODAY Sports

The Indiana Pacers finished the 2022-23 regular season with a 35-47 record, coming up five games short of being in the Eastern Conference Play-In Tournament.

They may not be participating in the postseason, but the Pacers made sure to get one last laugh in this season by pranking Bennedict Mathurin on his final day of being a rookie.

Coming back from New York after their final game of the regular season against the New York Knicks, Mathurin walked to his car with the team's veterans following him only to find his car completely covered in plastic wrap!

Obviously annoyed at first, Mathurin quickly smiled and laughed at the prank his teammates pulled on him.

Bennedict Mathurin had a stellar rookie season with Indiana, playing in a total of 78 games and averaging 16.7 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. Mathurin also shot 43.4 percent from the floor and 32.3 percent from three-point range.

He finished the year ranking second in points, third in field goals made and sixth in minutes played out of all rookies this season. Bennedict Mathurin also finished the year scoring 1,028 total points off-the-bench, the second-most in the entire league behind only Malik Monk's 1,041 points.

Proving to be a key part of the Indiana Pacers' future, the former sixth overall pick will be one of the faces of the franchise alongside guard Tyrese Haliburton for a long time to come.

Fortunately for Mathurin, this should be the last rookie prank his veterans will pull on him, as he is officially entering his second season in the league with the offseason beginning for the Pacers!
