Watch: Pacers' Tyrese Haliburton has big first half vs. Knicks

Indiana Pacers point guard Tyrese Haliburton is channeling his best Reggie Miller impression in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the New York Knicks.

Haliburton scored 16 points, including 14 in the first quarter, on 6-of-8 shooting, helping the Pacers race to a 70-55 first-half lead. Indiana also shot a staggering 76.3 percent from the field.

In the 1990s, former Pacers guard Miller was a thorn in the Knicks' side, helping Indiana beat New York in the playoffs multiple times. Haliburton recently acknowledged he's aware of the fierce rivalry between the teams and was prepared for another grudge match.

"We know the storied history of this rivalry between these two franchises, and now we're adding another chapter to that," Haliburton said, per The Athletic's James Boyd. "And historically, me as a basketball watcher, Game 7s are always so ugly. So, I expect an ugly game, and I expect whoever plays harder to win."

Aside from laying an egg in Game 5 — where he only scored 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting — Haliburton's turned in a solid series against the Knicks. In six games, he's averaged 20.5 points, 7.2 assists and 4.3 rebounds on 52.9 percent shooting.

Eliminating the Knicks would be a massive win for Haliburton and company. The Pacers last punched their ticket to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2013-14.
