Toronto Maple Leafs’ Max Domi, Bobby McMann to miss time; Jarnkrok uncertain for Game 1
? John E. Sokolowski-USA TODAY Sports

The Toronto Maple Leafs will be without some of their forward depth for the final two regular season games of 2023-24.

Head coach Sheldon Keefe told reporters Monday that Max Domi won’t play Tuesday vs. the Florida Panthers and likely won’t play in the season finale Wednesday against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Keefe also said that Bobby McMann will be out for both games in the Sunshine State this week. He left last Saturday’s game vs. the Detroit Red Wings with a lower-body injury.

Meanwhile in net, Joseph Woll will start Tuesday and may get the start Wednesday. After missing a chunk of the season with a high-ankle sprain, Woll is 4-5-0 in his nine games since returning on Feb. 29.

As for Calle Jarnkrok, who has been out since March 14 with a hand injury, Keefe said the 32-year-old is “not ready to play” and uncertain for Game 1 of the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Defenseman Joel Edmundson, who has played one game for the Maple Leafs since March 24 and is out with an undisclosed injury, practiced with the club on Monday and Keefe said he “looked good.”

“We’ll see where he’s at tomorrow just to be sure, but practice today was a positive sign for him,” Keefe said.

The Maple Leafs are 46-24-10 with 102 points, third in the Atlantic Division. They will likely face the Panthers in the first round, a rematch of the second round from last season. The Panthers won that series 4-1, eventually making it to the Stanley Cup Final where they lost to the Vegas Golden Knights in five games.
